2018 Reunion

REUNION LINKS

Four-day Reunion. Originally planned for August 3-4, due to demand for activities in Philadelphia and Gettysburg we have expanded the reunion to four days, August 1-4.

Choose Which Days to Participate. Reunion Registration allows you to choose which days and activities to attend. Fees will be charged by age group and activity. Many are free. Meals are scheduled for some days and not for others. Enjoy Pennsylvania Dutch country cooking!

Travel in Your Vehicle or the Reunion Bus. You have the option of traveling in your own vehicle or using the bus we provide for all activities. If you elect to participate by bus, your bus will pick you up in the morning at the LDS meetinghouse parking lot at 1210 E King St, Lancaster, PA 17602 and return you there in the late afternoon or evening.

The bus fee for most days is $25/day. Children are free if they are able to sit on your lap. Finding parking and traveling within Philadelphia can be a very challenging experience. For the adventurous, you will love the challenge of Philadelphia traffic.

We have reserved two buses totaling 112 seats on a "first come, first served" basis. We may be able to get more buses. We have until 30 days before the reunion to cancel unused buses.

Philadelphia Airport to Lancaster by Train. Getting to Lancaster from Philadelphia is just a matter of hopping on the train at the airport and one connecting train. There are 12 trains a day to Lancaster from Philadelphia. Actually, the Baltimore Airport is 30 minutes closer than Philadelphia. To see all your options, click here

If you want to catch the train from the Philadelphia airport, go to "baggage claim" and look for the "Train" sign. There is only one train (see SEPTA.org) so you can't miss it. You pay $6.75 (credit card and debit cards can be used) at the kiosk next to the platform and catch one of the frequent trains (about every 30 minutes) to 30th Street Station (20 minute ride), which is the Amtrak Station. If you don't want to use the kiosk to buy your ticket, just hop on the train and a conductor will come by and charge you $8.00. On the train, you must pay with cash and he/she will make change for a $20 bill or less. When you arrive at the 30th Street Station, all you have to do is go down one level to Amtrak's platform. Go to the window and ask for the next train leaving for Lancaster (they leave nearly every hour all day and evening long) and purchase a ticket for $20. The ride to Lancaster is just over an hour. You can catch a cab or use Uber to get to your hotel. The Cork Factory Hotel is just one mile away and taxis are a five minute drive, approximately nine blocks away for $7 or 8. You can also rent a car from Hertz 717-396-0000 (8-6pm weekdays, 8-4pm Saturday, and 12-5pm Sundays) who will come to pick you up at the train station (2 or 3 minutes away).

Which Airport Should I Use?

For most people trying to reach Lancaster from around the country, using Philadelphia International Airport will be much cheaper than flying into other smaller airports in Pennsylvania. Baltimore International Airport in Maryland is another option that should be checked when comparing airfare. Also check out the Harrisburg International Airport.

Entrance Fee Notes

Day one--Philadelphia Trip: There is only one activity fee for this day and that is for the Independence Hall Tour for $2 if purchased through the reunion ($1.50 if you make your own reservation). We have 212 tickets reserved, "first come, first served" by registering for the reunion until the tickets run out. We may be able to get more tickets, but that is uncertain. There are many things to do around Independence Hall if there are no tickets available. You can also wait in line at Independence Hall for "no shows."

Day two--Gettysburg Trip: One activity fee for the impressive visitor center movie, Cyclorama, and museum. We have 212 tickets reserved, "first come, first served" by registering for the reunion and paying for that option. We may be able to get more tickets reserved, but that is also uncertain. There are usually some walk-up tickets available. You can get your own tour guides or audio guides at the visitor center for touring the battleground. This day, however, those who register for the regular daily reunion buses will spend three hours with a tour guide on your reunion bus.
