Ribera D'Ebre students' mediation tasks

TASK 1

Dear colleagues,

We hope that you enjoyed that weekend in honor of your Patron Saint Marcos.

Your programme has all the necessary to have a fantastic festivity. There are activities for everyone like fun fairs, “casetas”, music, and food.

On Saturday people meet to taste wine, have a popular meal consisting of broad beans and pork fat and even the largest “fritada” in the world for the first time. It’s only for the bravest in El Ejido!

On Sunday, “rosquillas” are sold. After the mass, there is a procession where there are big floats following the Patron Saint. Moreover, there are prizes for the best floats.

Finally, the celebration ends with BBQs in the streets or eating out. Luckily, Monday is a bank day!

We liked to know about how you celebrate Saint Marcos.

Well, it’s time to say goodbye!

TASK 2

Dear friends from El Ejido,

It’s great to hear that you celebrated your Patron Saint festivity, San Marcos, the last weekend of April.

We were amazed about the number of days you spend celebrating it; it amounts to 6 days! There are a lot of activities to do, for example, a fairground, and casetas with music, food, and drinks as well.

On Saturday the celebration continues with lots of food such as broad beans, pork fat, and the first largest fritada in the world ever seen. All of these accompanied with some excellent wine tasting.

On Sunday “rosquillas” are eaten for breakfast. In addition, people gather together to attend the mass and later San Marcos is taken on a procession with big decorated floats. The most beautiful ones are given a prize. Of course, the best way to keep on is having a BBQ or eating out with friends and family. Luckily you can have a rest on Monday. Next year, we’d like to join you!

We really hope to hear from you soon.

Take care,
