The BCSS Green Team and volunteers maintain and beautify the BCSS garden space and facilitate an outdoor/nature-based education for all BCSS students.
The Green Team guides our school in sustainable and climate awareness practices. They provide multiple pathways for community members to participate through including Garden Education, Clothing Swaps, Book Swaps, Earth Day Celebrations and more!

Are you an arborist, landscape designer, a carpenter? Do you a background in ecology or sustainability practices?
We would love to hear from you.
Our Garden Educator, Sable, will be offering Seasonal Newsletters and posts about what your student is learning in the outdoor classroom. These posts will include ways you can engage your child in conversation about gardening and sustainability at home and in the community.
Check back in next year for Seasonal Newsletters!
This Fall the BCSS Green Team plans to team up with BCSS mid-level leadership students to collaborate on the Fall Clothing Swap and community coat drive. We plan to continue our partnership with the BCSS Botany Club and their Portland Clean Energy Fund Climate Grant work to make our school as green as possible.
Stay tuned for ways you can donate and support our students with civic engagement opportunities.
