During the end of July 2020, and in anticipation of a hectic fall due to uncertainty in work and school schedules during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, we broke out and went on a (socially distant) road trip across the western midwest. Our three primary destinations were Yellowstone, Glacier and Mt. Rushmore with various stops along the way and full days in Yellowstone and Glacier.
Yellowstone is spectacular, incredibly accessible, and did not appear particularly busy for high tourist season. Glacier similarly, which was surprising given that overcrowding was mentioned on the website. Mt. Rushmore was perhaps the highest population density due to the popularity and small space covered by the monument.
