A Call for Artists for Commissioned work is an open invitation for artists to submit their resume or portfolio in order to be considered for a specific project, event, or public art opportunity. It typically seeks artists based on their experience, skills, and approach, rather than finished artwork alone. Artists usually submit examples of past work, a brief statement of interest, and relevant background information. A selection panel reviews applications and chooses artists whose work and experience best fit the goals of the project.

A Call for Art invites artists to submit completed or in-progress artwork for consideration in an exhibition, show, or display. The focus is on the artwork itself rather than the artist’s broader practice. Artists typically submit images of their artwork along with basic information such as title, medium, size, and price (if applicable). Selected works are then exhibited for a defined period of time.
