Creatively RESTORED brings life, color, and commerce to empty storefront windows throughout Bremerton by turning them into short-term, curated display spaces for artists, creatives, creative businesses, and nonprofits. These rotating “virtual storefronts” showcase products in street-facing windows, and utilize QR codes to link passersby to websites, online shops, or social media pages where they can learn more or make a purchase.
Participation in Creatively Restored is free. All displayed items must be available for sale unless otherwise approved by the Creatively Restored Administrator. If an item sells during the display period, it may be swapped out for a replacement at a scheduled time coordinated with the program team.
Participants must promote their display through social media before and during the installation period, reinforcing the connection between physical visibility and digital commerce.
The result of these exhibits is more than filling empty windows—these window displays restore energy, visibility, and opportunity to Bremerton’s creative district while helping local creatives and entrepreneurs connect with new audiences in a low-barrier, high-impact way.
Program Details
Displays are typically installed for about two months, allowing for seasonal rotation and fresh visual interest downtown.
Any artist or non-profit may apply, but priority is given to participants located within the Bremerton Creative District, including the Manette area, the Olympic College education corridor, Sheridan Park and Charleston gateways, and then those located within the City of Bremerton.
The program aims for a balanced mix of media, with approximately half of the windows devoted to retail businesses, 35%-40% featuring art and creative work, and 10–15% highlighting service businesses or nonprofit organizations.
Each display is designed as a closed-back installation so the building interior is not visible from the street. Backdrops and solar spotlights may be provided, and all display will be curated and approved by the Creatively Restored Committee.
Assistance for installation or removal may be provided
Display owners are responsible for meeting applicable licensing and tax requirements and must sign any applicable building owner-required agreements or waivers to participate.
Program insurance is provided through the Greater Kitsap Chamber.
