Jazz Band

About Us

The Breckenridge Jazz Band is available to all interested high school band members who play an instrument traditionally found in the Big Band orchestration: saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar, piano, bass and drumset.  Other instruments may be included depending upon musical requirements and student abilities.

The BHS Jazz Band has won numerous awards and accolades at CMU Jazz Weekend, MSBOA Jazz Festival, Alma College Jazz Festival and other performance venues

​Performances may include concerts, athletic events, festivals and other community events.  Performances are considered a natural outgrowth of the school day activity.

Who We Are

Jazz Band meets as a zero hour class each morning at 7:30am in the band room.  

While traditionally a high school ensemble, early participation waivers can be made for participation by students younger than grade 9.  However, enrollment in another band class is mandatory
