Greetings and welcome!

My name is Mr. Molands, and I’m proud to serve as the Director of Bands here at Breckenridge Community Schools. I’m thrilled to be a part of this incredible educational team and to continue building a music program where students can thrive, grow, and discover the joy of making music together.

I’m a graduate of Grayling High School and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Central Michigan University—Fire Up Chips! My primary focus was instrumental music, with additional training in elementary music education. I've had the opportunity to lead a variety of classes and ensembles, and I’ve also enjoyed working with several high school marching bands across the state.

Outside of the band room, I’m a big fan of exploring Michigan’s local restaurants—food is a real passion of mine! I’m happily married to my amazing wife, Rachel, and we share our home with our dog Vernon and our cat Xena.  I’ll admit—I’m always up for showing off a cute pet photo.

This year, I’m looking forward to all the music, growth, and memories we’ll make together. Whether you’re brand new to band or continuing your musical journey, there’s a place for you in our program. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
