BEHIND THE SCENES CHAPTER!!!
With new eyes, Quicksand turned and studied Canyon—Prince Canyon.
He did, in fact, in so many ways resemble the SandDragon Queen. There were small scales around his eyes that she had never noticed before, but now could see that they looked very much like the scales Cactus had as well. There was also the way they held themselves, as if poised to either take flight or run straight at the enemy, but unsure of which.
She had thought she was the only hybrid, the only weird dragon with two parents that looked completely different, one from the dry desert she called home, and one from the tropical humid rainforest, where her father had liked to take her with him on adventures, scouting for monkeys and panthers.
Her mother worried that the truth of Quicksand’s fathers’ identity would come out, revealing her own identity as well. In the Royal Family, it was looked down upon for a Royal to have anything to do with dragons from other tribes, let alone having an intertribal relationship. In fact, Quicksand’s mother despised the whole idea.
But, here she was. The ever-constant reminder to her mother of the very thing she went against.
Of course, being the Queen’s sister didn’t help her case either.
But that was one of those things that Mirage had absolutely no control over.
