Brandy Edmondson is a fifth year doctoral candidate in the Work and Organizations department at the Carlson School of Management (University of Minnesota) and Visiting Fellow at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Her research program centers information asymmetries in the workplace and how they intersect with background information like race and gender, in multiple contexts including employment discrimination, mentorship, and referrals, etc. She considers herself to be an interdisciplinary scholar– her research spans microeconomics, organizational behavior, human resources, social psychology, and sociology. Brandy's main research goals are to use her interdisciplinary training to find novel ways to test for the presence of discrimination in the workplace, identify the underlying mechanisms that lead to discrimination, and provide unique insights into implications for organizational policies aimed at mitigating workplace discrimination.

Brandy is honored to be an alumna of the Economics department at Spelman College, The PhD Excellence Initiative at Stern Business School, the American Economic Association Summer Program, and The PhD Project. She is also a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.and the Sadie Collective

In her free time, Brandy enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling abroad, playing with her dog, watching movies, and hiking.
