Task 6 requires us to gather and analyze assessment data in order to practice our reflection and next steps. This task encourages us to find different strategies and to think of different ways we could have accommodated student differences better within the lesson as well. Additionally, we must pick at least 3 focus students to talk more in depth about and show why we chose these students to focus on. The reasons can vary however most of the time the students chosen are those who made significant progress within the lesson, or those who did not, making reflections even more necessary.
Task 6 also helps us prepare data in an organized and comprehensible manner. This is important because as educators, our data is looked at by many groups of people, from parents, to educators, to higher ups and the DOE. By making our student's data streamlined and understandable, it makes it easier to explain to parents and others how the student is doing, where they're having troubles, and how we can develop more support to help that student succeed.
