Task 2A: Standards Exploration focuses on developing a unit and the standards being taught in that unit. This includes an analysis of the unit and the standards within and in this analysis, we must articulate what students are learning, why they need to learn this, and how will we be teaching it. Task 2A also requires us to analyze standards and why it is appropriate for students to learn these topics now. Lastly, we must plan for misconceptions, and cite evidence from reputable sources to help strengthen the strategies that we will be using to teach the unit and each individual standard.
Task 2B: Learning Outcomes dives deeper into the components of lessons and units. In this task, we develop essential questions, enduring understandings, learning objectives, academic vocabulary, and prior knowledge. By going in depth about these components and forming a layout of these lessons, it helps us educators follow an intentional and precise plan that will guide our teaching.Â
