Past Scholarship Recipients

Avan has participated in Boulder County 4-H for ten years, exploring an array of activities.  He has shown market and breeding chickens, market turkeys, and horses. Avan has been awarded numerous champion and reserve champion titles. He has won champion egg production for the last 4 years in a row. 

Avan is an accomplished fiddle player and was a leader in their high school fiddle club. You may find him busking on Pearl Street with fellow musicians or playing at open mics around greater Boulder, Longmont, and Denver. You may also find him playing derby for our local Boulder County Devils at the Boulder County Fairgrounds.

Avan graduated from Silver Creek High School in 2025 with a G.P.A. of 4.46. and earned AP Scholar honors. He was 5th in his graduating class. In addition, he earned the state Seal of Bi-literacy for written, listening, and speaking Spanish proficiency. In the fall, he will be attending the University of Colorado - Boulder, majoring in integrated physiology with plans to attend medical school. Avan’s time in 4-H has shaped them into a compassionate leader with a strong passion for science and a deep sense of responsibility to others. He hopes to one day work with Doctors Without Borders.
