About the Project

The Digital Literacy Initiative (DigLit) is an initiative of the City of Boston's Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development, Worker Empowerment Cabinet.  DigLit is designed to increase the digital skills and resiliency of Boston residents.

DigLit was made possible by funding through the City of Boston's American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. In 2023, the project was awarded an additional $1 million from Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley’s Community Project Funding. This funding will be used to expand the project of the initiative.

Digital resilience, as defined by the Digital US Coalition, is “the awareness, skills, agility, and confidence to be empowered users of new technologies and adapt to changing digital skill demands,” and it can only be developed over time. Edtech Routines offer consistent, evidence-based, structured opportunities to develop digital skills.

What is an Edtech Routine?

EdTech Routines are instructional or program practices that instructors use regularly and repeatedly in any subject matter to help learners develop their digital skills, agility, and confidence to be empowered users of new technologies.
