Bombers Team Parents!
Welcome to the 2025 fall season of Bombers Baseball! I am very excited to get this season started and get our kids back into the great sport of baseball. For those of you that are new to the team please allow me to introduce you to our Baseball Family.
My name is William Lewis and I am an Air Traffic Control Specialist at Fort Worth Air Route Traffic Control Center. For those of you wondering, I do not control or work at the airport or in a tower. Instead we have a much larger staff than the local towers and we use radar and radios to control air traffic across the skies of North Texas from about 100 miles west of Lubbock east to Monroe Louisiana, and from Oklahoma City down south to College Station. Each Day we handle about 7000 flights through this airspace. I am originally from Ohio and my career brought me to North Texas in early 2015. I am married to my lovely wife Patricia and we have 3 kids together Henry, Scarlett, and Dalton. I really look forward to meeting you as well!
Baseball is one of my favorite youth sports. I believe that through youth sports kids learn so many valuable traits that will carry with them throughout their lives. Teamwork, discipline, working to achieve a goal, overcoming adversity, friendship, critical thinking, overcoming failures, winning with humility and lastly respect are some of the many traits that our kids can learn through their years of youth sports. At the coach pitch 6-8 year old level, we are just beginning to open these kids up to these traits and it is very rewarding to see them progress throughout the year. It is my goal to develop these traits through baseball to create a successful player and team.
In order to achieve this goal, your participation is crucial to our success. One thing that sets us apart from many of the other teams is the level of involvement of our parents. With the Bombers, our parents get to take charge of the success of their young players. As a Parent, your first task is to read all of the new information from myself, the league, and Little League National. Next will be to ensure your young player is ready to play. To ensure they have their equipment, have plenty of water, have used the facilities, arrive to practice on time and ready to play. This will be followed by facilitating a place for your player to practice at home between team activities. Many times this is easier said than done and we recognize the hard work of you, the parent, is crucial to the success of your young player. We have an awesome group of parents and we are excited to have you join us.
Again, I look forward to getting started to this season of Bomber Baseball, and I am certain we are going to have a ton of fun! Please feel free to contact me at any time.
