Object ID: SCP-008
Object Alias: “Zombie Virus”
Object Class: Euclid
Spectator Clearance: Level 4
Scientific Rank Required: Biologist
Anomaly Description
SCP-008 is a complex prion, samples of which are stored at Advanced Containment Facility Apollo.
Traits of the SCP-008 prion include:
100% Infectiousness
Transmission through contact with the person or their clothing
Not Airborne or Waterborne
When infected by SCP-008 the subject grows large tumors on the body and becomes highly aggressive and then gets identified as SCP-008-1. The person will essentially become a zombie if described by a normal person. All tests indicate that SCP-008-1 is limited to basic abilities such as standing, walking, and biting. Multiple reports during an active breach of SCP-008 has suggested the existence of a SCP-008-1-A (Addendum 008:1). It has been suggested that SCP-008-1-A is stronger then other instances of SCP-008-1 as well as being red compared to the standard gray-blue color. Testing of SCP-008 has not been able to produce an instance of SCP-008-1-A at this time. Any information or footage about SCP-008-1-A to be reported to the Directorate of the Scientific Department.
Special Containment Procedures
SCP-008 is to be held in a █ by █ stud chamber in Sector 3 within the Biological Containment Wing of Advanced Containment Facility Apollo. No personnel are to enter the area of the containment zone without a Hazmat Suit.
Special Testing Procedures
SCP-008-1 instances may not be moved out of the Containment Zone by order of the Directorate of the Scientific Department.
2 Mobile Task Force Personnel are required for all testing of SCP-008
All Class Disposables involved with tests on this SCP must be terminated after the test is over.
All spectators and the test conductor must leave the outer containment chamber before the Class Disposables and SCP 008-1 instances are marked for termination
You must announce that a SCP 008 test specifically is happening on the radio if you were to test on it.
If a SCP-008-1 instance does breach during your test, you must announce it on the radio.
There is a 1:30 hour cooldown per SCP 008 test per person, meaning you must wait 1:30 hours before being able to test again. There is a 30 minute cooldown between all tests, meaning if somebody else tests you must wait 30 minutes to test on it even if you’re past your 1:30 hour cooldown.
Interns must complete the Biohazard Intern Quiz to spectate a test on SCP-008
Special Cross-Testing Procedures
Permission from the Directorate of the Scientific Department is required to move a sentient SCP to SCP-008’s chambers. SCP-008 may not be moved out of its CZ for any reason.
Permission from one third of the Board of Biohazard Research or from the Chief of Biohazard Research is required to cross test SCP-008 with a non-sentient SCP that can be moved.
During a breach of SCP-008 in Advanced Containment Facility Apollo on 3/5/2022. Multiple reports over the radio have suggested the creation of a new SCP-008-1 instance, now classified as SCP-008-1-A. Head Researcher ████████████ has confirmed that these reports were sent by personnel within Mobile Task Force, Security Department, and the Unusual Incident Unit. Any information about SCP-008-1-A to be reported to the Directorate of the Scientific Department.
