World Password Day

Password is a digital lock that protects our privacy and data. It is a string of characters in coded form. It is also known as a passcode, secret word, and OTP (One-Time-Password). There is a distinction between passwords and OTP. Password is a minimum 8 character encrypted code while OTP is based on 4 to 6 numerals only. Passwords can remain intact till it is protected while OTP is generated afresh every time by some agency to authenticate our records. OTP is used as an authentication tool.

Every year FIRST THURSDAY in the Month of MAY is celebrated as World Password Day. A strong password is formed using the alphabet, numeral, and special character having a minimum of 8 characters. Fernando J. Corbató was an American pioneer in the field of computer science who is best known as the father of the password.

WHAT ARE GOOGLE "EASTER EGGS"?

Google "Easter Eggs" means a surprise with each search. In actuality, it means an unexpected or undocumented feature in a piece of computer software or on a DVD, included as a joke or a bonus. Some famous ones are " Do a Barrell Roll", play games like Pacman, snake, etc. There are lots of such "Easter Eggs". Just try a few ones during your search on Google in your spare time.

What is 10-key experience?

Anyone who uses the numeric keypad to input numbers or performs calculations quickly is said to have 10 key experiences.

This means that the persons develop the capability to input the numbers and do calculations without actually seeing the numeric keypad.

WHAT IS HUNT AND PECK TYPING?

This is the typing method in which users search (Hunt) the keys on their keyboards and then presses (Peck) the key generally using their index finger.

This method of typing is more time consuming compared to “Touch Type” which is much faster than this way. It is also known as the Columbus method.
