SPRING/SUMMER LONG COURSE BLAZE SEASON: To continue swimming, please register for the upcoming Blaze season that begins April 6.
Signing up for a swim meet can feel intimidating the first time. This page walks you through the process and explains what happens after you you click "save," so you know exactly what to expect.
You don't need to get everything perfect – coaches review all entries.
Go to the Johnston Blaze Swim Club website
Log in to your parent account
Navigate to Team Events
You'll see a list of upcoming meets available for registration.
Locate the swim meet you plan to attend and click Edit Commitment on the right side of the page.
A new screen will open with meet details and registration options.
Under Declaration, use the drop-down menu to select:
"Sign [Swimmer's Name] up for this Meet"
This confirms your swimmer's intent to participate.
After committing to the meet, you'll see a list of events your swimmer is eligible to enter.
Click the checkbox next to each even you wish to enter.
Events are grouped by day and session – only select events for sessions you will attend
If your swimmer has competed in an event before, a time will appear
If not, you may see NT (No Time) – this is normal
Prefer the coach to choose events?
That's okay. Simply skip selecting events and move to the next step – the coach will assign appropriate events for your swimmer.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save Changes.
⚠️ If you do not click Save Changes, your swimmer will not be entered in the meet.
You should receive a confirmation email after saving.
Swim meet deadlines are hard deadlines set by the host team.
No late entries are allowed after the deadline
Please register early whenever possible
If you miss a deadline, the swimmer cannot be added to the meet
After the registration deadline:
A Meet Event Roster will be shared
This is your opportunity to double-check events for accuracy
During this review window, you may make changes or withdraw without charge
Once this review period ends:
Events are finalized
Meet fees are owed regardless of attendance
Meet fees are automatically charged to the card on file in your Blaze account on the Tuesday after the swim meet.
Refunds are typically not available unless the host team cancels the entire meet.
Coaches have final approval over meet entries.
Sometimes events are change because:
A swimmer is not yet ready for a particular event
A stroke or distance is not legal for the swimmer's current level
These adjustments are made to support swimmer safety, success, and confidence
