All Are Welcome: This artifact is a thanksgiving inspired art project promoting inclusion and acceptance of all students regardless of their skills, abilities, ethnicity, or skin color. Students are welcomed with open arms. This artifact was obtained at an elementary school in the hallway.

This artifact is just one piece to creating a flourishing and uplifting environment where students feel excited to learn.
Part of being an educator means doing your best to reach all students and creating an atmosphere that is warm and welcoming. Teachers will have different approaches to this as well. Teachers must also be diligent in their own evaluations of how they perceive their students making sure they do not develop negative feelings about troublesome students.
Understanding and Labeling Emotions: This artifact is a presentation on identifying emotions and what happens in the brain and the after effects they have on our actions.
Performance indicator 4I states that the competent teacher creates a safe and healthy environment that maximizes student learning. This artifact is connected to this performance indicator because educators must know that there are a lot of factors that can influence a students ability to learn.
It is important to be aware of the fact that your students might be going through something in their personal lives, with friends, parents, themselves or with their parents at home which presents new challenges each day. Being able to multitask between multiple students needs will also be a learning curve in and of itself over ones own teaching career. It is important that a teacher knows they may not be able to reach every single student in the given time frame of the class.
