Buddy is a 1 year old skinny pig. Skinny pigs are a type of guinea pig. What makes a skinny pig different compared to other breeds of guinea pigs is that they only have hair on their nose and paws. Buddy is a special type of skinny pig called a polydactyly; he has extra toes on his paws.

Buddy comes to school each day with Ms. Deason. He has his own cage in her counseling office/classroom. Buddy helps the students at Bismarck Elementary learn about kindness, compassion, and empathy. He is a good listener. He enjoys being held by the students and receiving vegetable treats from them.
