Mission of Bismarck Elementary's School Counseling Program

The mission of the Bismarck Elementary School Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses the academic, career, and social/emotional development of all students in a nurturing and safe environment. The school counselor is dedicated to advocacy and forming collaborative relationships with students, families, staff, and members of the community to empower student growth and build skills for life-long learning. The school counseling department is committed to preparing students to reach their potential and become productive and responsible citizens. The school counseling program educates and equips students with skills for overcoming challenges and increasing resilience. As a result, students transition to Bismarck Junior High School prepared for success while moving towards college and career readiness and their future as a productive, responsible, and lifelong learner.

The needs of all students are met within a data-driven, developmental, comprehensive school counseling program. Student needs are addressed through a rigorous curriculum that cultivates personal growth, self-awareness, mindfulness, career awareness, self-regulation, responsibility, and appreciation of diversity to foster their success in an ever-evolving world. The comprehensive school counseling program supports the achievement of students of all abilities and builds collaborative relationships with families, staff, and community members to support the foundations of student success.
