Comprehensive School Counseling Program

The Bismarck Elementary Comprehensive School Counseling Program is an essential part of the district's educational program. The program is developmental and consists of the school counselor implementing direct services and indirect services. Direct services are interactions between the school counselor and students. Indirect services are interactions between the school counselor and others, on behalf of the student; indirect services include referrals for additional support as well as consultation and collaboration with parents, guardians, teachers, administrators, and community organizations. Indirect services also include management activities and services needed to support the school district's comprehensive school counseling program.

School Counseling Curriculum

This curriculum consists of structured lessons designed to help students achieve the desired competencies in the areas of social/emotional, academic, and career development. The school counseling core curriculum is delivered throughout the school’s overall curriculum and is systematically presented by the school counselor in collaboration with other professional educators in classroom and group activities.
