During the third week of Advent, we focus on joy. Joy is different than happiness. Joy is something that God puts in our heart that stays with us, even when things are hard. The angels visited the shepherds when Jesus was born and said to them, "Don't be afraid! I have good news of great joy! A Savior has been born - his name is Jesus!" The shepherds were filled with joy becuase they knew that Jesus came for them. Jesus brings joy to everyone.
During Advent, we use a wreath and candles to help us celebrate Jesus' birth. If you have an Advent Wreath, light the candle for joy.
Talk about things that make you happy and things that bring you joy.
Read about the angels visiting the shepherds in the bible or in your favorite story bible.
Pray and thank God for sending Jesus who brings joy to the world.
