Paul wrote letters to churches to help them learn how to follow Jesus and share the Good News of Jesus with others. The most amazing this about God's love is that it is a free gift to us. 

Romans 6:23 tells us:

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

This means we cannot earn God's love by being good enough or following the rules perfectly. We all sin - we think, say, and do things that don't please God. But God sent his Son, Jesus, to rescue us from our sins. All we have to do is choose to follow him. God's love is a free gift.
