Hi! Welcome to Birbbers! I'm Valued Beyond Recognition -- but the people in my day-to day life call me Kez! What's up with that big name? Well that's my ritual name! Both names are used to refer to me, but my Ritual name is personal to me and holds special significance in my Tribe.

Oh If you haven't noticed: I'm a Birbber and a very plain one at that! I'm not very specialised other than a bit of Iridescence and a Tuft, that's an uncommon and common trait! I'm sure you've seen a few Birbbers around, haven't you? I heard you have two starting birbbers already! Joining Birbbers is FREE! That's right! You already had two of us running around you. So how about we join up the group?

Not happy with just two? Well in due time, I'm sure that you will see a few more show up around around every six months, another Birbber will surely pop around.

Don't be alarmed if between those six months another Birbbers shows up in your life, we love company and there are other ways to acquire new myos / Raffled Birbbers and of course you could try the usual method of re-population ;) We're not a very advanced species and we evolve at a very slow pace, in fact compared to some species our evolution several times slower... Taking millions of years!

While once in a while an occasional growth spurt or mutation will show up during a shed, but hat we're born with is usually what we have for life.

Joining the Group

Click the "Join Our Group" Button. You will be automatically accepted. The Note doesn't need to be anything! Press "Submit Request" and BAM you have your first two Birbbers MYOs.

Now I heard some groups require a lot of hoops to get started and join the group.

We're very accepting of everyone and you are more than welcome to join as you are. No art, no worries!

However just remember when you join on a new account for more Birbbers, we will be very dissapointed and we will not be able to transfer your Birbbers over to any new accounts. :(

Designing Your Birbber

From what I heard, we're a pretty versatile species, but we are defined by our long, Otter-like Tails; Bird Beaks; Talon-like Hands and Feet. We are covered with a mixture of Fur and/or Feathers and usually have Mammalian Ears.

Oh I better say this, cause it's almost undeniably Birbber: But we have something called Luminescence and it's required that every Birbber to have mask that hides at least our eyes with a mask!

You can see that my eyes are a beautiful vivid blue, so my Luminescence is the same blue! Luminescence is usually only visible when we are very emotional, but can be faintly seen in darkness. It allows us to know where our tribes-mates are and usually shows in our hands, ears, eyes and fingers/toes. Of course, some of us have a very dark Luminescence, which doesn't produce light.

My mask is pretty standard. It's made from ceramic, which is a very weird material made by the Others! But I've seen many types of masks over the time, they're very important to Birbbers and a lot can be deduced by their masks. Some tribes use them as a ranking system, some use them as a personal extension of themselves. You can make them out of wood, out of the scraps left around by the others, and anything you can get your hands on.

Just remember Masks should at least shroud your eyes, allowing your Luminescence to shine through and it's often frowned upon to use any lashings to fix it to your face -- Masks aren't for anonymity and no one trusts a Birbber who cannot show their face in an immediate time.

'kay so I'm not the most shining example of rarity, but I am pretty cute, still right!? Well, you know how some creatures have different looks? We take it to the extreme, we have many different unique "Traits" that most of us are born with. We have Birbbers who have taken to the Seas, those who are darker than shadows and some who have many, many unique customization. As long as you keep it within the Basic Species Information's guide, there is NO LIMIT to what you can do. Well there is, for newbies like yourself and that is FIVE POINTS.

Also! Because we're very flexible in design, maybe some traits aren't well recorded. Its best to start telling the other Tribes about some trait that your Birbber has that hasn't been listed in the Trait List is always a good idea. Feel free to enquire about these "Community Traits" and maybe the trait will start cropping up in some capacity. I'm sure you could think about some traits you haven't read up about.

Luminescence is a natural glow that activates when a Birbber is emotional. Bright Luminescence glows, while Darker Luminescence stains.
All Birbbers have a mask which they are very attached to, they are an integral part of their society and in some way will always be with.
Every Birbber is unique in their own way. You have Five Points on your Birbber to use. Common Traits are always free!
Traits can always be suggested, but means other Birbbers will be able to use them freely too when accepted as Community Traits.

Getting Accepted

Once you designed your Birbber, create a Submission on your account in Birbber References with the submission you have. If you are concerned about your design, feel free to ask in Discord if anything needs to be changed. Be ready for the possibility of edits by staff!
After a while, a human will use their human eyes to look at your reference and be ready to approve. Don't be discouraged if there's any edits you have to make, it's a learning experience and to try again!
You will be accepted in about a weeks time, however if you are waiting for more than that, feel free to message our staff via notes.

Well now you can draw them to your hearts content! We Don't use a scoring system for points or currency but you can Opt-In to the ARPG and track your progress with our doc here.

The main ARPG is known as Tribal Society and involves you building up a society for your new Birbbers. When you play the ARPG you unlock certain perks. The ARPG can be played entirely by yourself, but collaboration is always welcomed! The ARPG is currently a work in progress.

If you decide not to participate in Tribal Society we also have PvP focused Tribal Showdowns which are limited art and literature prompts where you feud with another player-ran Tribe to earn TRIUMPH POINTS.

Otherwise, feel free to write, describe and otherwise play with your Birbbers!
