Watheq Mansour is currently doing his PhD at the University of Queensland. Watheq received his M.Sc. in Computer Science from Qatar University and his B.Sc. in Informatics Engineering from the University of Aleppo in Syria. Watheq joined bigIR team in 2020 as a Research Assistant in an NPRP project focusing on early detection of fake news. Watheq's previous research focus was on mitigating the bad impact of fake news by detecting the previously fact-checked claims over Twitter. His research interests include information retrieval, natural language processing, and deep learning. Apart from the research experience, Watheq spent more than a year as a mobile developer at Optecks company.
