The aim is to gain insights from a diverse range of interdisciplinary literature to examine conceptual trends, discursive frameworks, the evolution of terminology & taxonomy, technological advancements, key authors and collaborations, methods of presence measurement, and the ways in which variables are managed.
This study will target papers that explicitly reference the sense of presence in VR as part of the rationale or analysis.
Bibliometric analysis is a way to make visible what is hidden by the sheer volume of research in this field.
I am carrying out a range of searches across various databases to determine:
Which databases to use
How many papers can be found in each database
Which keywords are most appropriate to use
Search strategies for each database
Extraction formats
Data integration and analysis tools
