We take some of the burden from off your shoulders as we guide and assist you in making sense of your numerous assignments. We help to clarify what is expected of you from your professors based on the instructions, guide you in the right direction to find the information you seek, review your work, advise you on the best approach to answer the questions and other assistance as needed.

Navigating Blackboard

Many students find it confusing to work with Blackboard. The professors will expect all students to be able to navigate Blackboard successfully so that they can access all the information that is posted there, make use of all the resources which are available, and have no difficulties doing so. Most professors do not have the time to walk students through the intricacies of navigating Blackboard. We take the time to do so for students who come to us for tutoring. We find that it has been one of the chief complaints made by students who are both new to college and those who have had many semesters under their belt. Suffice it to say, students need help navigating this tool to help them be on top of their work.

Research Papers

Research work is intense but very rewarding. However, loads of students have a difficult time getting it right. There are many aspects of research that we can help you with. Our main aim is to guide you in the right direction so that you can overcome the research stump experienced by a great number of students who may not have had any such experience in their academic life thus far. We review your questions, guide you on the outline, focus your attention on proper formatting using APA, and MLA style, review your final paper for any mistakes so that you can be sure that you have submitted your best work to be graded.

Study Skills

Studying takes time and effort for most students. There are many learning styles that people use to learn. Some students are not aware of what their learning style is or have a general idea of what it is. We can help you to hone your study skills by doing a diagnostic test which allows us to find what works for you. We also use various forms of instruction that allows us to make the most impact on students while ensuring that they have a firm grasp on the subject matter being taught. We want to make learning clear, concise, simple but fun at the same time. We also introduce students to tips and tricks of simplifying their content matter so that it becomes easier for them to learn.

Counseling/Advisement

Students normally have a general idea of what they want to accomplish while in college. However, they may not always know how best to achieve this. We help students plan for completion of their degree in an expeditious manner so that they can graduate as early as possible. Others may need help with their application and transfer credit evaluation. While we do not do credit evaluation, we can make a referral, so they know where to get it done. We also do talk therapy for students who have problems pertaining to college life, adapting to college work and so on. The bottom line is, we can help with a smooth transition to a new world of academia.

FAFSA

New York State offers help in the form of Federal Financial Aid for those students who qualify. However, not everyone makes use of this free money that’s available for students who are eligible. Navigating this resource can be a trial for a lot of students and their family. We can help you with the application process, determining your eligibility, and get you on track to make your dream of attending college come through.
