A Sunny Day, Far, Far Away

by

M. O' Ariadne

Sunny day,

Beach in front our home.

Cool, fresh breeze from the ocean.

Smell of the ocean in the air-

Slightly salty. Clean, refreshing scent.

Sunlight glittering like diamonds,

upon the breaking waves in the sea.

Wind strong enough to whip your hair,

around your shoulders in a glorious riot

of confusion.

Walking

on the warn sand,

Feeling the grittiness between your toes.

Sound of waves crashing,

 on the golden sands.

Children’s laughter as they run,

and look for seashells along the beach.

The sound of music,

faintly drifting,

 over the balmy air.

The feel of the sun,

 gently kissing,

 shoulders, face, and body,

 As fluffy clouds float by

lazily, looking down upon us.

The sky, a startling hue of blue,

Clean, clear, crisp.

A feeling of warmth,

and happiness.

Makes me smile

 as I remember,

 my childhood days.
