College can be a very stressful time for students, and a great number of students are overwhelmed by the many deadlines that they have to meet. In addition, loads of students have to juggle work, home and school at the same time, All of these various aspects of one's life can be stressful, which adds up. On the other hand, many students fail to submit their papers on time, leave it for the last minute, do not devote enough time to researching their topic, and generally make a mess of things. When they fail to get a passing grade they face additional stress, may eventually get kicked out of their program, or quit college all together because they cannot keep up with the work.
