Prvi dan mobilnosti 30. 5. 2022.
Błonie
Short performances by students (School)
Forest in the glass - workshop (School)
Meeting with a Mayor (Sport Centre)
Remondis
3D printing/Virtual reality
Ubrzo smo bili upoznati i s prvom radionicom pod nazivom Forest in the glass.
Možda neprofesionalno, no, naravno da smo i mi morali probati!
The first day of mobility, May 30th, 2022
Short performances by students (School)
Forest in the glass - workshop (School)
Meeting with a Mayor (Sport Centre)
Remondis
3D printing/Virtual reality
Our first day was fulfilled with activity and different events. We knew instantly that this week is going to be extremely exciting and cheerful!
At the very beginning, we have been welcomed by the youngest students of Błonie school who prepared drama writings and songs for us. Students have sent an important message through the workshop about the world we live in and how we should behave to ensure our world remains as beautiful as it is.
Quickly enough, we have also been familiarized with the first workshop named Forest in the Glass. Two cheerful teachers have guided us through the procedure of making a herbal terrarium. We have altogether dug into work with joy and diligence, making sure to leave a perfect environment where our plants will be able to develop properly. The only thing we regret is that we were not able to take the terrariums home, but we believe that our hosts will keep them as a nice reminder of this wonderful mobility.
After having tidied up the classroom, our hosts took us to a modern Błonie Sports Centre.
Therein, we’ve been hosted by the director of the centre and the major of Błonie. What intrigued our students the most was that the Błonie students have swimming classes, two hours each week in this centre. The centre has beautiful swimming pools, a gym, spa, and room for activities such as bawling, shooting, billiard, a one giant hall for all other sports.
Afternoon hours of the first day have been organized through divided activities: students remained at school on 3D printing/Virtual reality workshops, while teachers went to visit the Remondis factory.
The Remondis factory is in business of electronic device recycling, mainly television and refrigerators. We’ve been introduced to a factory’s story by an amiable warden and teachers had the opportunity to see the process from up close. There’s no neeed to emphasize how grateful we are for the existence of such factories, but simultaneously we were also grossed by the waste that we produce in just a matter of a few days. To learn more about the factory, visit their website: https://www.remondis-polska.pl/
Somewhat thoughtful, we returned to the school to meet our students again to find them enjoying their workshops. It may be unprofessional, but of course we also had to try it out! Teachers enjoyed the activity along with the students who had to help them out!
Fulfilled with positive emotions, we returned to the hotel and impatiently awaited the next morning!
Drugi dan mobilnosti 31.5.2022.
Trip to Warsaw
Shoping Centre
Visiting the roof garden in Library of Warsaw
The Old Town - tour with a guide
Traditional dinner
Naspavani i odmoreni, 31.5. posjetili smo prekrasan grad Varšavu.
Prekrasni zeleni travnjaci, potoci i mostovi, impozantno drveće i raznoliko bilje, mame svojim izgledom i mirisom.
Second day of mobility, May 31h, 2022
Trip to Warsaw
Shoping Centre
Visiting the roof garden in Library of Warsaw
The Old Town - tour with a guide
Traditional dinner
Rested and well slept, we’ve visited the beautiful city of Warsaw on May 31th.
Our tour began in the great shopping mall where our teenagers enjoyed the most. After the tour, what they deemed to be too short, we began meeting this great city whose size we started to realize only after the late afternoon hours.
Our first station was a Roof Garden situated on the Warsaw University library roofs. As we walked down the library roofs we were amazed by the current moment and feeling grateful for being here. Wonderful grasslands, rivers and bridges, remarkable trees and diverse plants that lure with their appearance and odour. No surprise that this garden is the perfect escape from reality in the overpopulated city. We have too, like the students who seek their peace there, created a small picnic and dived into our own stories.
Although extremely joyful, we have only just begun meeting the Warsaw so we shortly continued with our journey. Along the pleasant walk down the Visle river, we approached the Old City. Therein, we’ve experienced plenty of notables such as Warsaw marmain on the main square, Wilanów Palace, St. John Cathedral, Warsaw Barbican, Court square, Frédéric Chopin and Marie Curie statues. A pleasant tour guide led us through the Warsaw who showed and told us the most important parts, as a city big as this one cannot possibly be met entirely on only one day.
Exhausted, but proud for having walked over 15km, we went for a well-deserved traditional dinner where we were served with a famous polish pierogi and fruit compote. Of course we enjoyed the perfect ending of the day!
Treći dan mobilnosti 1.6.2022.
Błonie
MPWiK workshop
Children's day at school
City game
Kampinos mission
Jutarnje sate smo uglavnom proveli u prostorima škole, učeći o vodi, njezinim svojstvima i onečišćenju.
Third day of mobility, June 1st, 2022
Błonie
MPWiK workshop
Children's day at school
City game
Kampinos mission
We’ve spent our morning hours mainly within school areas, learning about water, its composition and pollution. A passionate teacher has guided us through a variety of water experiments. One of the interesting experiments was the one with a boiling water and cold ice which is visually extremely attractive and amazing. We’ve learned about the mist, water surface tension, the impact of cleaning preparations on that tension and bugs walking on the surface of the water. We’ve also monitored the relation of the three liquids: water, alcohol, and oil. We’ve seen the ways a water can act as a guide and were given some valuable advice about the protection from the fire. The teacher was kind to share an interesting tale of mirage, or in other words - the type of mirroring that is frequent on the Baltic sea, whose legend says it spread fear and discomfort in the eyes of sailors.
The interesting teacher would surely have shared a lot more stories with us, however, June 1st is the International children day which a school of Błonie celebrates with excitement!
Shortly after, we’ve settled at the hall where a real circus show began. The circus performers are students of the circus school of Poland, which is an extremely rare type of school in the world. We’ve all enjoyed their performances and admired their craftmanship and courage.
After the show, we were headed for the Błonie main square where local polish teachers shared a bit more about the monument of wrist watch and the fountain. The mayor tuned in music only for us, which echoed throughout the square district.
During the day, students were involved in a City game workshop on the topic of recycling. The students of the school in Błoni designed the assignments themselves and set up task stations within the park and the area around the school. At one of the stations, students had to read and figure out what some words in Polish mean, such as:
Dziewięćsetdziewięćdziesięciodziewięcionarodowościowego
Żółć
Szczęście
Pszczyna
Następstw
Źdźbło
Bezwzględny
Szymankowszczyzna
Szczebrzeszyn
Were we successful? Judge for yourself!
Our day ended with the learnings of the Kampinos mission - renewable energy sources. We’ve monitored a short simulation of both the sun and wind energy on interesting, modern devices. A playroom was also a real surprise, where teachers and students could test out with games and laser guns. The reason behind these games is the acquisition of skills and personalities such as patience, concentration, and care, making sure nobody is put at risk and avoiding unnecessary noise.
Četvrti dan mobilnosti 2. 6. 2022.
Trip to Gdansk
Vidjeli smo Zlatna i Zelena vrata, a šetali smo Dugom ulicom i Dugim trgom. Imali smo prilike vidjeti i najdužu crkvu na svijetu izgrađenu od cigle - konkatedralu sv. Marije.
Fourth day of mobility, June 2nd, 2022
Gdańsk
The real adventure began on June the 2nd when we took a fast train to Gdańsk. Gdańsk, according to Poles, is one of the most beautiful Polish cities and they recommend a visit to anyone who has ever been to Poland.
In Gdańsk we were greeted by a nice tourist guide who took us at a brisk pace through the city and its most beautiful and important sights. We have learned that Gdańsk was one of the richest cities in the Baltic, and also the saddest side of history - destroyed and completely demolished on several occasions. Fortunately, the city has been restored and is adorned with Gothic-style buildings, often decorated with paintings and various statues. We saw the Golden and Green Gates, Torture House and Prison Tower; we walked along Long Lane and Long Market. We had the opportunity to see the longest church in the world built of brick - the concathedral of St. Mary. How much the inhabitants of that time appreciated the god of the sea Neptune, can be seen in the square where stands the magnificent Neptune Fountain, which has survived despite all the destruction of the city.
Although the city is mainly an industrial, shipbuilding and port center, it also stands out by processing amber, which can be bought in various forms on the streets of Gdańsk.
We ended the tour of the city with a one-hour boat ride on the river Motław.
Too soon, we had to get back to the station and wait for our train to take us to Warsaw. We hope to see Gdańsk again in the future and enjoy its romantic streets!
Peti dan mobilnosti 3. 6. 2022.
Błonie
Meeting at School
Visit in the museum
Final ceremony
Polish Day
Walk in Błonie
Fifth day of mobility, June 3rd, 2022
Błonie
Unfortunately, the last day of our visit to Poland came very quickly. We started the day with a meeting at the school from which we headed to the Museum in Błonia. In the museum we learned more about the history of this town, from the very beginnings to the recent past. Immediately after the tour, we headed to the Cultural Center where a show with traditional Polish dances and a recycling event was organized.
After the official part of the ceremony, our hosts prepared us a wonderful lunch with Polish dishes. The whole community took part in the preparation, from grandparents to students of the school in Błonia. We felt very special and we are extremely grateful that we were so nicely honored!
Walking through the park, enjoying a real sunny day, we felt our parting approaching.
One can always easily describe events, but it is extremely difficult to convey feelings to someone only through words.
Forever grateful for the hospitality, for the beautiful friendship that we will always appreciate and cherish, we say goodbye to the beautiful story in Poland and look forward to meeting again with dear friends!
Thank you for everything!
