Through its paid employment programs, internships and apprenticeships, Greenagers engages teens and young adults in meaningful work in environmental conservation, sustainable farming, natural resource management, and vocational skills building.
Greenagers uses its work crew model to engage students in visits to construction sites, farms, and other workplaces that showcase the culture and environment of the trades in Berkshire County.
The program aims to connect high school students with apprenticeships in fields they identify as part of the Pathways to the Trades program. Participants receive school credit as well as a weekly stipend.
Roots Rising empowers youth and builds community through food and farming. All Pittsfield teens are eligible to apply to work for a Roots Rising Youth Crew.
Summer Farm Crew runs for five intensive weeks in July and early August. Fall and Spring Farm Crews run for 8-9 weeks after school; Fall Crew runs September to November and Spring Crew runs March to May.
Market Crew is an advanced job opportunity for graduates of Farm Crews and is involved with all aspects of running the Pittsfield Farmers Market, including vendor support, customer service, children's activities and implementing our food justice programs.
The Habitat Build & Repair Corps offers hands-on training in residential construction where you will develop new skills and build affordable homes for local families. Earn a stipend while you prepare for your future.
From June 14, 2024 to August 16, 2024, Central Berkshire Habitat for Humanity will accept applications for the 2024-2025 AmeriCorps Build and Repair Corps term of service that starts September 3, 2024. As long as the term of service is completed, participants will receive an education award but will only be able to use it as long as they have a diploma or GED.

This is not a job placement program and you are not guaranteed a job after completing the program. The training provided can make you more marketable and help you prepare for certifications in your desired field.
