There is simply no way for me to try to show off the things I'm proud of without mentioning my TAs. One little bit of genius that I walked into when I came to BYU-Idaho was to hire as many TAs as I could, rather than just one for all of my classes. Dedicating a TA for each class ended up providing big benefits in terms of their focus on the course, but it gave me enormous benefits too in terms of having lots of smart people to bounce ideas around with. My TAs have been a huge benefit to me--and I hope that they've gotten something from the experience as well.
Breezy Johnson was my Tech TA (during Covid) and I was foolish enough to let her get hired away to teach GE college success courses. She's a rockstar.
Olivia West is a former president of the Tri-Ed society, my current ED 449 TA, and a dear friend.
Emma Canann is my current TA (Spring 2023) and is helping me resdesign my ED 304 class.
Mayleigh Barth has been my TA for a full year, and has since gotten a job at the Faculty Technology Center. She is brilliant.
Alexis was among my first TAs when I was at BYUI. She is particularly special to me, and this in large measure because of how she grew--and helped me--as a TA.
Hannah Reis was one of my very first TAs, and I hired her for a great many reasons--but she's right that her feedback was so, so helpful!
Courtney Coates took my class in my first semester of teaching at BYUI, which was also remote. She was among my initial cohort of TAs, and also took a number of classes from me--she now substitute teaches in the Pacific Northwest.
Claire Hales was my TA for Technology for the 21st Century and was an incredible asset when she helped with my Senior Practicum course.
