Education, Hospitality, Stewardship
To develop an atmosphere of education, engagement and innovation, which is conducive to learning, creative articulation and critical thinking through exposure to the permanent collection, temporary exhibitions, and educational outreach programs while ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment which will enable us to facilitate vibrant communication across differences in
culture, nation and creed and by being excellent stewards of the Benedictine Traditions and Values.

a way toward learning and freedom
Every task worth starting takes discipline. From creating a piece of art to creating an art collection, someone has to make the decision to start and then actually get moving. After that, the work has to keep going until it is finished - or with some tasks, it just has to keep going. What we find when we really commit to a task is true learning. Studying once will not make information stay in our long-term memories. Continually returning to it will make it part of ourselves and make creativity possible. An artist cannot create art if they have to constantly re-learn how to hold a paintbrush. Discipline does not create restriction, it creates freedom. What in your life is worth the discipline?
