Bruins, we’ve made it through our first two months of school. We’ve made it through weeks of seemingly 40 degree weather with our legs sticking to plastic seats and we’re making it into the months where we need to bring winter coats to class. In just a couple months, we’ve reconnected with friends, made new ones and lost some; we’ve aced tests and failed others. We’re settled back into the rhythm of a week of school, waiting for the weekend to catch up on all the sleep we’re missing. Leaves have changed from vibrant green to dusty brown, crumpled beneath our feet.
Why do we write? Why do we take the time to get our thoughts out on paper? And why do we share them with all of Bell High School? We do this to document. To remember the events that brightened our routine of schoolwork, to recall the news that shaped what we talked about and thought as it impacts our lives day by day. To write is to reflect; to write is to remember. Think of the Roar as a portable, paper-thin time capsule that you could show your kids one day. It’s not elaborate or refined; it’s real and relevant.
As the seasons change, our voices change. At the Roar, we promise to help you remember.
Happy reading!
