Archivist's notes: This phone was in my grandparents' house for decades, at least since 1977 when they moved in. I remember seeing this phone in the kitchen for as long as I've been alive, and it always still rang even after my grandparents got an electronic cordless phone. The earliest date on the phone is '67, and the latest is '88. Strangely enough, the keypad is a 35AF3A, which is not for general phone use. It had its 3 extra wire connections cut off, meaning the installer who came to make the service call just modified a keypad he had on hand. What I also find interesting is that the keypad is from 1988 and is actually branded as a "Western Electric" long after the WE name ceased to exist and production moved overseas. The phone is just a conglomerate of dates and mysteries.
