REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION

Download and save your 40 hour RBT Training Certificate you received at the completion of your coursewor
DO NOT SUBMIT YOUR 40 HOUR TRAINING TRANSCRIPTS - this will result in a processing delay

Signed Initial RBT Competency Assessment

Download the Signed RBT Competency Assessment and save a copy for your personal records
Confirm your downloaded RBT Competency Assessment has the following:
- - Assessor's signature and date
  - Initials for each task
  - All fields are Checked off (the BACB will deny the application if anything is not filled out
  - Your Correct Legal Name

Signed Attestation Form

Download the Signed Attestation Form and save a copy for your personal records
Confirm your downloaded Attestation Form has the following:
Your full LEGAL name and correct BACB ID Number
All fields and check boxes are filled out appropriately
Name, signature, and date from attesting certificate

Apply for the RBT Exam

Log on to your BACB Gateway account and begin your Registered Behavior Technician Application.
Upload the required documents and fill out the required information accurately

Register for your RBT Exam

When you receive a confirmation email from the BACB with instructions to take the exam, you are required to register for the RBT Exam with Pearson and pay your $45 examination fee.

Please Note: Wait time right now is about 2 weeks to receive approval and instructions to take your RBT exam from the BACB

Scheduling Your RBT Exam

Following the submission of your payment you will be given the “green light” via email to schedule and sit for your formal RBT Exam at a Pearson Testing Center near you!

With the ID number provided upon registering with the BACB you can schedule the formal RBT examination.
When Registering for your exam, please select BACB as the acronym for the testing program
You have 48 hours to schedule your testing date after receiving approval from the BACB.
Take your test within a 10 day window of receiving testing approval from the BACB.

Notify Training

Notify the training team of your scheduled RBT exam date at training@behaviorchangeinstitute.com.

Taking Your RBT Exam

The proctored RBT exam is comprised of 75 multiple-choice questions and test takers are given 90 minutes to complete the exam. Test takers should note that Pearson asks that you arrive 30 minutes prior to the time of your examination.

You must bring two current valid forms of identification with your name matching on both forms of ID and the name you gave to Pearson.
You are not authorized to take any personal items into the exam.
You must raise your hand while taking the exam to have a Pearson employee authorize you to take a break or go to the restroom during the test.

The cost for registering for the exam with Pearson is $45 and you must receive the minimum score of 76% to pass.
