The nature of work remains constant when we remain focused on one thing - the child at the center of their learning. This talk is a reflection of my time as a student, educator, district leader and education advocate. I share my own Why as to what got me started in education, what I've learned along the way and what I am most excited about for the future.
An academic approach developed in 2006 at the Univeristy of Minnesota. RAT is simply a method to reflect on adoption of technology as an instructional and learning tool.
Developed in 2002 by the Partnership for 21st Century Learning (now P21.org) It was a partnership between the NEA and a number of innovative companies. The Four C's - Creativity, Communication, Collaboration and Critical Thinking are argued to be the key skills that are required to thrive in our modern age.
An area of research that is questioning the traditional definition of literacy in our information age. When information is widely available, dynamic and presented in a wide variety of modes, new literacies sets to explore what it means to be literate in the modern age.
