Like the ACA Funding Proposal, this assignment was based on the fictional company, Custom 3D Designs. The task was to write a podcast transcript of a specified time requirement. The podcast was intended to be a company podcast for employees to hear critical updates about C3DD. This episode of the podcast contained information about how the integration of WebEx benefitted the company, the previous quarterly performance and highlighted company projects. The quarterly performance portion of the podcast was challenging because I decided the podcast should not be all good news and celebration. Instead, the company missed their mark by about 25% for the quarter. This gave me the opportunity to still convey the bad news in a way that my audience would understand but also provide hope for the future of the company.

This assignment required me to write in a format that would have the flow and sound of a podcast while still conveying important information to employees. To meet the time requirement, I recorded myself reading each draft, edited the content to add or reduce time, and fine-tuned it to maintain a podcast tone. My favorite podcast to listen to is Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend. I have listened to hundreds of hours of this podcast. This was a fun assignment for me, and it gave me a chance to work my personality into an assignment. I took inspiration from my favorite podcast and wrote a silly introduction to the podcast, and I even incorporated a fake ad for Bombas socks to complete the feel. Despite having a little fun with the assignment, it still challenged me while meeting the requirements.
