Dress Rehearsal for the 6:00 show will be FRIDAY, JUNE 7th

The Performing Arts Center at Glenwood Community High School

504 East Sharp Street, Glenwood, IA 51534

All dancers should arrive in full stage hair and make-up, and wearing their first costume with a cover-up over the costume.

Dress Rehearsal is the last complete rehearsal to make sure that dancers, costumes, lights, sound, and scenery are all working together and ready to go! Please understand that there is much going on “Behind the Scenes.”

Rehearsal Procedures

Check your student in the Glenwood High School cafeteria.

Enter the main doors. Do not enter the auditorium doors.

Dancers should be wearing their FIRST costume with a cover-up, have full hair and makeup, have their dance bag (including all shoes), and any additional dance costumes. Chaperones will take it from there.

Once your kiddo is checked in, you are welcome to leave or stay and watch. If you choose to go, we will just ask for a cell phone of who we should contact in case of an emergency.

Photography & Video

During dress rehearsal, you will be able to record a video of your child’s dance only from the parent’s section. You will not be allowed to record during the actual performance. Not even on a tablet or cell phone.

ABSOLUTELY NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY DURING PERFORMANCES! Flashes are dangerous to our dancers. Please help us keep them safe.

On-Stage Rehearsal

Quite often, your instructors will start by walking the dancers onstage first. They will walk through their positions and formations with them and then run the dance. Instructors will only run the dance once or twice. Once they feel like their dancers are ready to go, they will give us the thumbs up and we will move on to the next dance.

Please remember that only chaperones are allowed to go back stage.

Once your dancer has completed their rehearsal for all of their routines, the chaperone will escort your dancers back to the cafeteria for check-out. They are free to go and rest up for recital.

Dancers will be brought to the cafeteria after their last dance.

Chaperones will escort dancers back to the cafeteria and check out your dancer to the designated adult once all their dances are finished.

For student safety, chaperones are the only adults allowed in backstage and dressing room areas.
