The Church of St James the Greater, a historic Catholic church in the Archdiocese of Boston, is a place of veneration, prayer, and reconciliation. Originally built to support the influx of immigrants from Europe, today St James the Greater is home to the largest Chinese Catholic population in Greater Boston. It is in this place of worship, the faithful gather to give praise and honor to God and our Blessed Mother Mary, and to celebrate our immigrant roots, heritage and culture with all.
As a community of faith, we are called by Jesus Christ in his mission of discipleship to serve our fellow brothers and sisters and to unite them into God’s ever-expanding Kingdom here on earth. In order to accomplish this, we set forth our parish’s mission:
We, the people of God at St. James the Greater church, strive to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ, in word and deed, to all who come in our midst; nourish our Catholic faith and strengthen unity through worship, religious education, spiritual activities, and stewardship; invite all to a closer, transformative, and deepening relationship with our loving God through celebration of the sacraments, witness, and works of charity; contribute and participate in the growth and vitality of our parish by sharing the gift of our time, talents, and wealth; and serve and foster the spiritual and temporal needs of the Chinese and neighboring communities in the Greater Boston area, and invite all to share in Jesus’ message of Salvation.
聖雅各伯堂是波士頓總教區內一間歴史性教堂，大家崇拜，祈禱，修和的地方。本堂曾支持當初歐洲大量移民來此，現在是大波士頓區華人天主教友最多的家。信眾崇拜，讚美，敬禮天主和聖母瑪利亞，和所有人慶祝我們移民的根源，傳統和文化。
