The aim of International Conservation Education (ICE) is to help build the theoretical and practical bridges for micro learning about how to live sustainably.. The practical goal is to facilitate cultural change and exchange to sustain the human condition as a global society. The contention is that the concept of cultural ecology could provide an ideational bridging scaffold to join up practical approaches, from many starting points, for managing the environment in an overcrowded world. An ICE pedagogy for achieving this outcome involves using postcards and blog posts for individual, group and distance microlearning.
ICE is a research initiative to realise objectives of 'Linnean Learning', This is the centerpiece of the education and pubic engagement strategy of the Fellowship of the Linnean Society of London with its digital audiences.
