It was announced on 2020/09/06 at the BANQUET fan meeting that GAKU will be leaving the group come the end of this year in order to focus on his acting career. The One-Man-Live at Zepp Diver City will thus be his big send off. It was his wish to do so, which is why the members and management decided to make this last wish come true despite the current situation (pandemic).

Gaku is the youngest member of BANQUET
Gaku studied abroad in Australia (Adelaide), he can speak English fairly well although he's starting to forget a lot, he also studied Korean
When he was in Australia, he played tennis and was chosen to represent the state he lived in, he also has coaching experience

Gaku is a pretty decent cook
Gaku started "GAKU'S KITCHEN" for a video on the group's YouTube channel but it became a project in collaboration with high end greengrocer "HACARI" in July 2020. HACARI and GAKU collaborate to create recipes and ready made sets of healthy, organic ingredients (usually supporting local farmers and businesses). Vol.1 were "Healthy Blueberry Pancakes".
Gaku's mother is called Mariko and his father is called Akira and he has a younger sister Miki (his sister's birthday is July 7th, she is 4 years younger than him). Gaku lives with his father and apparently his father is super cool and good looking (according to Gaku, Akira looks like an older, dandy Oguri Shun - MixChannel 2020.06.25)
Apart from tennis, Gaku also does skiing and won 2nd place in Nerima Ward [Nerima-ku, one of the 27 wards in Tokyo] in the Giant Slalom and 3rd place in the regular slalom tournament. He also has coaching experience for skiing
Just like fellow member Toshi, Gaku also did kendo and advanced to the Best 8 in the team competition of the National Police Kendo Tournament. So in summary, Gaku is just crazy good at sports...

Gaku said that until the 2nd year he was with BQT he hated dancing but he kept going because he was frustrated and wanted to keep up and get better - when people around him and fans started to compliment him on his improvement was when he gradually started liking it. He said it was a rocky path and the other members got mad at him and scolded him and all but he is glad he is with these 4 guys and would not want to exchange them for any others in the world because they grew (and still grow) stronger together (MixChannel 2020.06.25)
