"Princes who live in the here and now"
9bic (pronunciation: "cubic") is a now 6 member male idol group from Japan. They are double produced by famous Japanese YouTubers Yapp! from "Sankoichi" and Yonemura Kaito from "Henjinmajime". As 9bic's official twitter account and the members' individual official twitter accounts were created on April 23, 2019, this is considered to be their official starting date but the group was formed before that (it is unknown when exactly but it can be assumed to have been sometime during the later half of 2018). Their first performance on stage (stage debut) was on June 1, 2019 at the "男音祭~men's music fes~". They appeared alongside other groups, who have been in the 'Underground Idol' circuit for longer, such as X-BORDER, BUZZ-ER., masshup and =Connect. They shared their stage debut with another group, Prizm*Palette.
9bic consider themselves to be strictly an "idol group" and not a "Dance & Vocal Unit". While they do take lessons and practice singing and dancing, their performance style is very different from that of a Dance & Vocal Unit. Simply put, an idol unit focuses more on selling a whole package, on selling "dreams and fantasies" rather than on showing off their skills and talents.
The boys of 9bic also live together in the '9bic House', a shared apartment. They moved into it somewhere between September and October 2019. Minato and Ryoga share a room and Keiichirou and Kota share another. Satsuki only stays over on weekends and when the group has events as he attends university classes back in Aichi. It's not been revealed whether Kiyoharu moved in or not at this point.
