What lead you to choose the current I/O or I/O related field that you're working in/ passionate about?
One of my first and favorite classes at Baruch was Staffing in the Workplace with Dr. Goldstein. We learned employees are the most important aspect of a company, and it is essential to place focus on hiring the right talent into an organization. After that class, I began an internship at an executive search firm which gave me the experience needed for my current role.
Who at Baruch would you say was the biggest influence on your career, and why?
Dr. Goldstein due to his engaging and informative staffing course (and also being a superb thesis advisor!) and also Elyse Mendel for her unending support while seeking internships, assisting with resume reviews, and helping students network within the field.
Tell us about one of your favorite memories during your time in Baruch's program.
My favorite memories involve fellow classmates because I believe we had such a fun and supportive cohort. Whether it was jokes in the hall before class or meeting up after an exam for a drink, knowing we were all going through the program together helped us support each other and succeed.
What advice would you give to students who are just beginning their time in Baruch's program?
Take advantage of the resources available through the career center, networking events, or attending office hours. These are all ways to increase knowledge of the field and your network of professionals.
If there is any advice or information you want to share that wasn't covered in a question above?
If you don't have a LinkedIn, I would suggest creating one. And once you do, ensure to keep it updated. It is one of the top sites for career opportunities and networking. Also, connect with me!
