Students will pick rooms on the Housing Portal after their Individual or Group Selection Time starts.
Discuss "Plan B, C, and D" -- Desired suites (like all-single suites) go very quickly. Discuss alternative options with your group:
What if our first-choice building is full?
If we pick a suite with doubles, who will be roommates with each other?
Are we willing to split into a smaller suite and a separate double/single?
Check out the photos, video, and floor plans for the different res halls to familiarize yourself with suite layouts and room size.
Watch the Lottery Google Sheet as it gets closer to your Selection Time to see what is still available to pick.
If you're in a group and the group leader is not available to pick when the Selection Time starts, they should make someone else the new leader as soon as possible.

If you are an Individual and will not be available to pick when your Selection Time starts, you can designate a Proxy. You will need to submit the completed Proxy form at least 24 hours in advance of your Selection Time (before 5pm Friday if your selection time is on a Monday).

If you are in a Group, only the Group Leader will be able to pick rooms when the group's Selection Time starts. If the Group Leader will not be available, they must make another member be the new Group Leader on the Housing Portal before the group's Selection Time starts.
For information on how to form a group, see Groups. Students can form groups on the Portal after submitting the Room Selection Intent Form.
