The National Eligibility Test, also known as UGC NET or NTA-UGC-NET, is the examination for determining the eligibility for the post of assistant professor and/or Junior Research Fellowship award in Indian universities and colleges. Till June 2018, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted NET on behalf of UGC. However, from December 2018 onwards National Testing Agency (NTA) started conducting the UGC NET exam.

UGC NET is an online exam conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT). The exam contains two papers that candidates need to complete in a duration of three hours. Both paper-I and -II contain objective-type questions and it is mandatory for candidates to attempt questions from both the papers
