Who am I? 

My name is Ruby Bard. I'm a queer non-neurotypical whose favorite thing in the world is rats. I've had them for over a decade and began breeding June of 2021. Its my personal goal to breed heathy and mentally sound rats for both the pet and feeder market. My rat's fate in my hands is to have the best life they can before moving on to their next purpose be it companion, or mental health aide. The ethical goals of any breeder no matter the purpose should be on the health and mental soundness of the animal. Proper husbandry includes healthcare, diet, enrichment, and dedication to the wellbeing of the animals under your care. It’s all about responsibility for the life you bring to the world, no matter what that means. 

I started breeding rats with a focus on making ESA quality rats. Intelligent, trainable and emotionally engaged animals that can help with companionship needs. My founder Mathew (Pictured Right at Shakespeare in the Park with me) was my most successful ESA and would go out to pet friendly places with me. His emotional intelligence and eagerness to learn and comfort me was something I wanted to provide other people.  His son (Bottom Right) has shown the same proclivity for adventures and has taken the public adventures his aging father can't handle any more.
