Bucks are male rats of breeding age. We breed bucks at 6 months or older. All of our bucks have a relation of some form to our progenitor Matthew. We pick our boys for "potato like" personalities and body structure.

"Bards Truly Iconic" is the Son of Queenie and Edger. He is a Black Verigated Rex Dumbo, He popped up his lovely little star and variegated markings, and we were so excited. He turned into a huge teddy bear and we love him dearly. Hes got as big as his dad at four months. Were hoping his huge size and temperament like his grandfather will shine through on our jumbo lines. We love him so much hes just a big chubby boy.

Matt's grandson and Stormys son, Bruno is a beloved boy. He genuinely seemed to just have compounded the teddy bear-like personality of his grandfather and father into the sweetest rat we've ever had. His coat is also perfect and even thicker than his grandpa's! He was a wonderful father and very gentle with the 5-week-old boys he got to help raise. He had fathered 5 litters and Was the dad of Edger
We adored him. He lived his full life surrounded by us and beloved by all the rats he was around. He started declining around October 2022, not unexpected after 1.5 years of age; we treated his respiratory issues and kept his physical activity up.
December 28th he was doing great and surrounded by his most recent litters of grandkids. The day of the 29th he seemed fine and was happy eating mash with them. We found him passed peacefully, surrounded By a snuggle pile of his grandchildren.Born January 2022, he Passed December 29th, 20223, days shy of his second birthday.
The buck that started it all our beloved Teddy Rex (Velveteen Rex) cloud boi. I got Matty June 2020, I had lost my dream job due to the pandemic, and I was very sick at the time. I had not only lost my current ESA but had lost my previous ESA to cancer on valentines. My then partner now husband saw me degrading fast and agreed to get a new baby rat. I let the rat chose me and Matty was the only one to run up to me. Five Weeks old and the tiniest little cloud. He snuggled into me and we knew we were taking him home. He was a tiny little white thing and he lived for spending time with me, little did we know at his peak he would reach over two pounds and turn out to be a gorgeous Siamese. No health issues and just the best boy we had a special connection. He brought me out of my darkest times.
I started breeding So I would be able to keep a piece of him with me and be able to give others a piece of such a wonderful rat. His sons and grandsons and great grandsons are all wonderful examples of his kind gentile temperament and intelligence as well as his need to love and make you feel better.
When he was two he got pneumonia. He survived that only to end up with mites. He survived that! Just after his second birthday he started to show issues with HLD (Hind Leg Degeneration, a common issue among males). Throughout his issues at the end we worked with him hard and tried our best to help but he was old and he told me it was time. I held him as he fell asleep. We got his body back.
Ironically the vet called in a panic wondering if they had his body or if we took it, it brought us some laughs on a very rough day. We took him to the Cabin, and there we built up the pier, I wrapped him in a shroud embroider with his name ( a piece of which still is woven around my service dogs collar, as she carries on his legacy of helping me with my illness). I put a letter to the gods (I'm a Norse Heathen) hoping they would take him in there halls. I placed flowers on top of the box and built up the pyre high. We lit it and sat back in our chairs and heard thunder and it started to rain but the pyre burned bright and through.
It was perfect, He was perfect, He lives on in his progeny and I couldn't be more proud of Him.

Breeding Buck
"Bards Eggs on the Side". Edger is the son of Bruno and Bunny, and our 4th generation! Hes a bright eyed friendly and easygoing boy who really loves his dad and wants to be Edwin's best friend more than anything. There even the same age (only 7 days difference). Despite Edwin's rejection he wants to be everyone friend. His first breeding will most likely be to Queenie for her second litter sometime in the winter. He was Retired early due to his pushy and grumpy old man personality. We decided it wasn't best for the lines to have him breed more and pulled him in favor of his son Icon who is much more like his grandfather.
