The opportunities listed below are things that we are aware of that might benefit the students at Bandys High School who are interested in pursing a future career in the agriculture industry. This is not a comprehensive list, just a resource for the scholarships that we are aware of.
National FFA Organization

One application for over 1,000 scholarships with over 2 Million Dollars distributed! Applications are available online in mid-late November and are due mid-January.
FASFA
Renewable for all 4 years! Free Application for Federal Student Aid- Provides both Grants (that do not have to be paid back) and Loans (typically low interest) from the Federal Government.
North Carolina FFA Association
Offers many different scholarships that our students are eligible for, including those specifically for those pursing degrees in Agriculture.
Breed & Commodity Group Scholarships
Check with individual groups that you are involved in- Breed Organizations, Commodity Groups, Exc. each have their own scholarships for members or children of families that are interested in that field.
Golden LEAF Scholarship Program

Multi-Year Scholarship for select counties in NC for both 2 and 4 year students including Catawba County.
R. Flake Shaw Memorial Scholarship (NC Farm Bureau)

Scholarship Opportunity for both 4-Year College & 2-Year Community College applicants, this scholarship is renewable for 4 years (university) or 2 years (community college). Preference is given to families that are members of Farm Bureau.
North Carolina State Fair Livestock Showman Scholarships
Only open to those individuals who have shown at the North Carolina State Fair. 24 scholarships valued at $2,000 each are provided with applications becoming available in January.
Carolina Farm Credit Ag Youth Leaders Scholarships

Scholarship Opportunity for students pursuing degrees in agricultural studies at NC State or NC A&T (There are four $2,000 offered at each school). Applicants must be the child or grandchild of a Carolina Farm Credit member.
University Scholarships
Check with your chosen college/ university to see what scholarships and financial aid packages they offer. Don't forget to apply for those in your college and degree program areas in addition to the institution.
